FAQs

How does laser hair reduction work?

Laser produces a beam of highly concentrated light that is well absorbed by the pigment located in hair follicles. The laser pulses for a fraction of a second, just long enough to vaporize the pigment, disabling numerous follicles at a time to eliminate the hair's growth.

Is it safe?

Laser hair removal is extremely safe. The most effective results for permanent hair removal
have been achieved on fair skin with darker hair. However, black and darker skins can also be treated with our technology.

Is it effective?

Yes. It removes hair in stages but the reduction achieved is permanent. However, if there is an
underlying cause like hormonal imbalance, which is not corrected, the hair could be visible again. In fact this is one of the reasons why it is always advisable to have a qualified dermatologist supervise your treatment.

Who needs laser hair reduction?

Laser hair removal is an effective treatment for unwanted hair for both men and women.
Mostly, people with darker hair and lighter skin are the ideal candidates for laser facial and body hair removal.

How many sessions do I need?

Normally, all body areas of treatment require eight sessions on an average. But the number
is subject to the results which can vary in different types of skin and hair, number of hair follicles, ethnic background, hormonal balance, metabolism and skin sensitivity.

Can I thread, wax or bleach prior to laser?

NO, hair should not be threaded, waxed or bleached prior to laser hair removal. The laser targets the hair root. Threading and waxing leads to removal of the root thus rendering laser ineffective. Since bleaching removes the color (melanin) of the hair, it takes away the target, even though the hair is firmly rooted.

How different is laser hair reduction from electrolysis?

Laser hair removal is performed to treat a large area of the body at one time. Electrolysis is performed on individual hair follicles. In electrolysis, a needle is used to penetrate each follicle and deliver a blast of electric or radio wave energy to destroy the follicle and prevent future hair growth which is extremely painful. Improper technique of electrolysis can result in scarring
and pigmentation.
